7-Day Exercise to Draw Near To God

Godly Transformation

Are you seeking to deepen your relationship with God, yearning for ways to strengthen your faith, and longing to grow spiritually? If so, we invite you to embark on a transformative journey through our 7-day challenge. Immerse yourself in this incredible experience, as you draw nearer to God and encounter His boundless love, unmerited grace, and undeniable presence in a profoundly intimate and life-changing way.

Day 1: Start Your Day with Prayer

The first and most crucial step in drawing closer to God is to intentionally begin your day with prayer. Dedicate the peaceful and still moments of your morning to wholeheartedly connect with God, expressing gratitude for the grace of another day of life. Share your deepest thoughts, worries, and desires with Him, opening your heart and soul to His loving presence. Humbly seek His guidance, protection, and abundant blessings, trusting that He will walk alongside you throughout the day's journey, offering comfort, strength, and unwavering support. Embrace this sacred time of communion with the divine, knowing that through prayer, you cultivate a profound and transformative relationship with God, nurturing your spirit and deepening your faith.

Day 2: Read the Bible Daily

The Bible, often referred to as God's word, is God (John 1) Himself as well as a sacred text that encompasses profound wisdom, invaluable guidance, and boundless love for humanity. Cultivating a daily habit of reading the Bible can be transformative.

Begin by immersing yourself in a chapter or two, taking a moment to reflect upon the profound teachings contained within. As you engage with the scriptures, open your heart and invite God to reveal Himself to you, allowing the message to deeply resonate within you. Embrace the opportunity to apply these timeless truths to your life, and witness the profound impact it can have on your spiritual journey.

Day 3: Practice Gratitude

Take a moment to truly appreciate all the countless blessings that God has graciously bestowed upon you in your life. Consider creating a beautiful gratitude journal, where you can joyfully write down at least three things you are genuinely thankful for each and every day. This practice of expressing gratitude not only helps us to wholeheartedly focus on God's boundless goodness and unwavering love, but it can also remarkably transform our perspective on life, infusing it with profound joy and a newfound sense of purpose.

Day 4: Attend Church Services

Nurturing your faith involves gathering with other believers, attending church services, and worshiping together. This fosters a sense of community, strengthens your faith, and deepens your connection with God. Find a Gospel-centred church that emphasises biblical teachings, supports spiritual growth, and offers a welcoming environment. Joining such a church allows you to connect with like-minded individuals and embark on a faith journey together.

Day 5: Serve Others

Jesus, in His teachings, emphasised the importance of loving our neighbors as ourselves. One practical way to put this into action is by taking time out of our day to serve those in need. There are various ways to do this, such as volunteering at a local charity, extending a helping hand to a friend or family member, or reaching out to someone who may be going through a difficult time. When we engage in acts of service, we not only demonstrate love and compassion towards others but also cultivate a deeper connection with God. It is through serving others that we not only enrich their lives but also experience personal growth and spiritual fulfillment. So, let us embrace the opportunity to serve and make a positive impact in the lives of those around us, knowing that by doing so, we are living out the teachings of Jesus and growing closer to Him.

Day 6: Practice Forgiveness

In order to forgive others, it is crucial that we deeply grasp and appreciate the extent of God's forgiveness towards us for all our sins. By comprehending the magnitude of His forgiveness and the depth of His grace, we can cultivate a heart of forgiveness towards others, extending the same mercy and compassion that we have received.

Forgiveness is not only a powerful act but it is also a transformative journey that can bring us closer to God. It involves not just letting go of resentment and anger but also cultivating empathy and understanding towards those who have hurt us. Taking the time to forgive allows us to heal and move forward, whilst also opening the door for reconciliation and restoration of relationships.

Moreover, asking for forgiveness from those we have wronged is an essential part of this process, as it demonstrates humility and a genuine desire for growth and change. Remember, as we strive to practice forgiveness, we are reminded of God's boundless mercy and forgiveness towards us, and we are called to extend the same grace and compassion to others.

Day 7: End Your Day with Gratitude

As you end your day, reflect on all the blessings God has given you throughout the day. Write down at least three things you are thankful for and pray for God's guidance and protection as you rest. Thank God for His love and faithfulness towards you.

By following this 7-day challenge, you will not only deepen your relationship with God but also experience His love, peace and joy in a more profound way. Remember to continue these practices beyond the 7 days and make them a part of your daily routine.

As you draw closer to God, He will draw closer to you (James 4:8) and guide you on your journey of faith. Let's continue to grow together and strengthen our relationship with God every day. Let's continue to seek His will and live a life that glorifies Him. May this challenge bring you closer to God, and may He bless you abundantly on your journey of faith. Keep seeking Him above all else, because in His presence is where we find true joy and fulfillment. The challenge may end but our journey of faith and pursuit of God never stops.
